| A note from the President | ||||||||
Hello Fellow Jaycee! One of my goals as President this year is to increase the quality of the communication that the Board provides to members and our friends who receive "This Week". One of the ways that I would like to increase the quality of communication is for the Board to share the vision, plans, and goals for the year. This is the third "Message from the President". In my previous messages, I have shared some of my plans and goals for 2007. While I may be President, I am certainly not the only Board member. There are currently 3 Area Vice Presidents (VP's), the Admin VP (AVP), and the Chairman of the Board (COB). All of these individuals have plans and goals for the year, and it is important for these people to be able to share their plans and goals with the Chapter. With this in mind, over the next several weeks, I have asked the Board to share with you their plans and goals for the upcoming year. As you read the plans and goals that the Board has for 2007, if you see something that interests you or something that you have experience and expertise in, I want to encourage you to contact the relevant Board member and get involved. Your involvement will not only help the Board and the Chapter, but it will help provide additional input and a more thoughtful perspective than what would have been possible otherwise. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you throughout the year.

Indianapolis Jaycees Relay for Life Team - June 2007 The Indianapolis Jaycees want to form a Relay for Life Team. Each year thousands of teams form to raise money for cancer research. In 1985 Dr. Gordy Klatt, a cancer surgeon, spent 24 hours walking or running to raise money for his local American Cancer Society. Dr. Klatt asked friends, family, and patients to walk or run with him. He raised $27,000. Now years later, this event is nationwide. Relay for Life typically involves more than 3 million participants and raises more than $250 million for research. A team is formed of 8 to 15 people. Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $100. If you want to help advance cancer research, please help the Jaycees form a team. Contact Traci Powell at 791-1351 or marketingvp@indyjaycees.org. |
