Greetings from Individual Development!
As the Jaycees board has visioned and planned for 2007, we are being very intentional about bringing you high quality, leadership development opportunities. At the national and international level, the Jaycees are emphasizing leadership development as the hallmark benefit for members. All this being said, I want to share with you Individual Development’s goals for this year and let you know how you can be involved. The goals for the coming year include: 1. Offer at least three community-wide leadership development trainings.
While the board is finalizing the calendar of events…I want to make sure you have the first training saved on your calendar! Business Etiquette- here and abroad
Scott Greenlee, Jr. Chamber International President, (www.jci.cc) and Darby Casady, International Center of Indianapolis, (www.icenterindy.org) will be presenting. This interactive training will include an introduction and experience with the Culture Wheel and what we deem culturally appropriate as Hoosiers- socially and in business. Scott will then share his experience as an American in the diverse cultures represented in JCI and lessons learned. There will time for questions and networking. This event is FREE to all Jaycee members and $20 per person for non-members. Please RSVP or e-mail any questions to annie@tld.org. If you would like to help organize or plan any social outings or trainings, please let me know—it would be great to have you involved! Best regards,

Indianapolis Jaycees Relay for Life Team - June 2007 The Indianapolis Jaycees want to form a Relay for Life Team. Each year thousands of teams form to raise money for cancer research. In 1985 Dr. Gordy Klatt, a cancer surgeon, spent 24 hours walking or running to raise money for his local American Cancer Society. Dr. Klatt asked friends, family, and patients to walk or run with him. He raised $27,000. Now years later, this event is nationwide. Relay for Life typically involves more than 3 million participants and raises more than $250 million for research. A team is formed of 8 to 15 people. Each team is asked to raise a minimum of $100. If you want to help advance cancer research, please help the Jaycees form a team. Contact Traci Powell at 791-1351 or marketingvp@indyjaycees.org. |
